The photo does not do this fixture justice. Sure, it has a "jelly jar" globe, but the base is slightly more stylish than your standard stamped steel base. The globe is glass, and frosted, just like a jelly jar. the fixture base is plasic (nothing to rust) and has some halfway decent lines to it. The best thing about this fixture is that it takes the GU24 bulbs. Because it takes these bulbs, there is no integral ballast in the fixture. The ballast is part of the bulb, so you replace the ballast everytime you change bulbs. Also, because its GU24, you can use a lower wattage bulb (fixture comes with an 18W warm white bulb, which is really bright). I bought a 9W warm white (40W equivalent) and its fine.
I recommend going to the manufacturer's website to get an accurate photo of this fixture.
The price here was the best by far, no tax, and I got the item in three days even with the free shiping option. Very happy here.

Description from the site: "The cast steel lantern includes rust and corrosion resistant powder coat or epoxy finish and glass diffuser."
This is UNTRUE as the cast "steel" latern is PLASTIC! If I could rate less than one star I would give it a -10.
